Yeap. I got my first leak. In my radiator. On a really hot, humid, icky day.

Keith came to rescue me in his hot white truck, and now the car is in the shop. 

Hopefully it will be fixed by Friday, and no more surprises.  

And most importantly, there won't be a leakage in my handbag.
Argh....

 

 

It has been interesting 2 days. I have met some interesting people of different nationalities and religions, and certainly, political stances.

I am in Columbus, Ohio, and this isn't a "fun, carefree" vacation. We are here to get 'business' done. And today, we had some fun. We attended a friend's graduation and John McCain was the speaker at the commencement. His speech was thought provoking, patriotic, and full of pride, and sense.

We went to a house party/dinner and it was great. Keith and I managed to find another couple whom we managed to discuss about nuclear development and pursuits in countries such as N. Korea, Pakistan, India and certainly, the hot topic, Iran. We talk about Russia and there were discussions about books and social/political issues.
It was thought-provoking and it certainly opens up aspects and avenues that you would have not considered.
It certainly made me want to read up more to get a more well-rounded, complete picture.

How do people just go about doing their regular daily lives and not care about what is happening with the world, thinking what is happening in country A will not have an impact on their country?
How can World Cup be the only thing they care about? How can A breaks up with B, and C cheated on D be a hot topic of discussion, when China wants to 'marry' Taiwan and Taiwan wants to go stag?

 

Anyway, just think about it.

Life is too short to just live through it. We should make use of it, and do something meaningful and significant, something that will leave a lasting impact for the future generations. If not, we would have wasted life.

 

This good slice of chocolate cake made even the bluest days pretty and gay.

I am no army brat: Dad would have given me some good whippings before he would allow me to become one.

I am army bred.

This one is for the soldier in the family, who will be stepping into the barracks and get all roughen and toughen up.

He was a baby then; a running toddler who tags along every where we go at different parts of the house. And then, we asked, "Why is he following us?" Isn't he happy with his milk bottle?"

Then he grew up, went to school. From a tag-along cousin, to a somewhat distant cousin, to an almost buddy-like cousin... he has indeed grown up.

Tomorrow, he will be a smart looking soldier.

He will take the challenge.

And he is gonna get some bad ass muscles!
